Promoting Food Waste Reduction at Primary Schools. A Case Study

Food waste (FW) has recently attracted the interest of different institutions and been focus many studies due to its important environmental, social economic impact. This paper aims analyze whether a didactic intervention, consisting informing teachers pupils involving in reducing FW, could bring about changes level knowledge attitude towards FW amount generated during mid-morning break lunch at schools. study was conducted public Primary School Valencia (Spain). Subtle were detected after intervention. Around 30% reduction observed intervention group but not other groups. A decrease almost half average weight rest primary The results apparently show that addressing issue classrooms can have very positive effect on children’s attitudes.
